FSWC’S CEO AVI BENLOLO & CTF’S CEO TAHIR GORA DISCUSS MUSLIM HATE AGAINST JEWISH COMMUNITY
Earlier this week FSWC met with Pakistani-Canadian journalist Tahir Gora, who has labelled protest rally flyers laying the blame for the recent massacre of Shia Muslims in Pakistan a ‘Zionist plot’ as ‘Toronto’s anti-Jewish Movement’; the productive conversation concluded with an agreement to continue cross-cultural meetings and exchanges.
Mr. Gora, who has written several articles about Muslim attempts to attack the Jewish community in this flyer and in similar libelous materials, discussed a new initiative called the Muslim Committee against Anti-Semitism. The group plans to hold its first seminar next month to address the issue.
“This ridiculous assertion is beyond comprehension; it was certainly refreshing to hear a member of the Pakistani community clearlyname it as antisemitism,” noted FSWC President and CEO Avi Benlolo.
“Rather than addressing the tragedy of the massacre, promoting further hate against Jews was the goal of rally organizers. Mr. Gora and I agree that freeing the Muslim world of antisemitism and anti-Zionism will have the effect of liberating Muslim communities and allow them to focus on the root causes of the difficulties they face, instead of blaming all their problems on the Jews.”
